Duration: 1.5–2 Hours
Step into the world of Jaipur’s iconic Blue Pottery in a short, immersive workshop designed for beginners, art enthusiasts, and curious travelers. Experience the joy of hands-on creation in a comfortable, boutique-style studio.
Here’s what you will learn and experience:
Making the Dough
Learn how Blue Pottery clay is prepared using a natural mix of quartz powder, glass powder, multani mitti (fuller’s earth), katira gum, black salt, and water.
Mould Making & Shaping
See how moulds are used to shape items such as tiles, plates, coasters, and small pots.
Try your hand at pressing and forming the mixture into basic shapes.
Drying
Traditionally, pieces are dried in the open for 1–2 days until firm enough for further work.
(For the workshop, we provide pre-dried pieces so you can dive straight into creating your designs.)
Product Selection / Souvenir Choice
Choose any two products from the available options:
Tile
Plate
Coaster
Small Pot
These items will be the canvas for your design and painting.
Drawing / Designing
Create your design or outline on the selected products.
You can draw freely (freehand) or receive guidance from the artisan.
Painting
Bring your designs to life using oxide colors such as cobalt blue and copper green.
Learn traditional techniques to create authentic Jaipur Blue Pottery motifs.
What Happens After the Workshop
Option 1: Take It Home Same Day
Take your painted pieces home as they are.
During the workshop, they will dry enough for safe handling.
Option 2: Leave for Glazing & Firing
If you’d like your items to be professionally glazed and fired (for the glossy, durable Blue Pottery finish), you can leave them with us.
Glazing & firing are included in the workshop fee.
Delivery: 15–20 days
Shipping/courier charges are extra.
Glazing & Firing Process
Please note that due to space and safety considerations, the glazing and kiln firing process cannot be shown in the studio. These steps are professionally completed at our partner artisan facility, ensuring your pieces receive the authentic Blue Pottery finish while you enjoy the hands-on creative experience in the studio.
